De hecho, una de cada seis muertes en el mundo est\u00e1 relacionada con el c\u00e1ncer, cifra que supera con creces el n\u00famero de muertes por infecci\u00f3n por VIH, malaria y tuberculosis combinadas. Es importante se\u00f1alar que existe una tendencia a aumentar el n\u00famero de casos de c\u00e1ncer en el mundo de a\u00f1o en a\u00f1o, los cient\u00edficos creen que para el a\u00f1o 2035 la incidencia de c\u00e1ncer se duplicar\u00e1. El c\u00e1ncer de mama supone 2,2 millones de casos al a\u00f1o y m\u00e1s de 680.000 muertes por esta enfermedad. Adem\u00e1s, entre la poblaci\u00f3n femenina, el c\u00e1ncer de mama ocupa el primer lugar en t\u00e9rminos de morbilidad y tambi\u00e9n es la principal causa oncol\u00f3gica de muerte en las mujeres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No, no quiero asustarte, s\u00f3lo mira estos n\u00fameros nuevamente y date cuenta de la importancia del problema. El acceso oportuno a la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica y a programas de detecci\u00f3n poblacional permite detectar el c\u00e1ncer en una etapa temprana y mejorar significativamente los resultados del tratamiento. Lamentablemente, los pa\u00edses con niveles medios y bajos de desarrollo econ\u00f3mico no pueden proporcionar a su poblaci\u00f3n servicios de detecci\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer de mama ni atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica adecuados. En estos pa\u00edses observamos un aumento significativo del n\u00famero de visitas al m\u00e9dico en la fase avanzada de la enfermedad, cuando es casi imposible curarla. Adem\u00e1s, el p\u00fablico no est\u00e1 suficientemente informado sobre c\u00f3mo reconocer el c\u00e1ncer, qu\u00e9 factores lo provocan y qu\u00e9 medidas se deben tomar para la detecci\u00f3n temprana del c\u00e1ncer de mama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-importance-of-early-detection\">La importancia de la detecci\u00f3n temprana<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La detecci\u00f3n temprana del c\u00e1ncer de mama se puede comparar con la detecci\u00f3n temprana de un incendio: cuanto antes se detecte el incendio, menos destrucci\u00f3n causar\u00e1. Con el tiempo en el reloj, cuanto antes se detecte el c\u00e1ncer, m\u00e1s tiempo tendr\u00e1 para tomar las decisiones m\u00e9dicas correctas. En mi opini\u00f3n, estas comparaciones muestran claramente que la salud y la esperanza de vida del paciente dependen directamente de la detecci\u00f3n temprana de la enfermedad. As\u00ed lo confirma el Instituto Nacional del C\u00e1ncer de EE. UU., al evaluar la supervivencia a cinco a\u00f1os de pacientes con c\u00e1ncer de mama en funci\u00f3n de la prevalencia de la enfermedad. As\u00ed, con la forma local de c\u00e1ncer de mama (sin met\u00e1stasis), el plazo de 5 a\u00f1os supera al 99% de los pacientes. La situaci\u00f3n con el c\u00e1ncer de mama generalizado (presencia de met\u00e1stasis) es m\u00e1s complicada: s\u00f3lo el 31% de los pacientes superan el plazo de 5 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La detecci\u00f3n temprana del c\u00e1ncer reduce significativamente la cantidad de m\u00e9todos de tratamiento utilizados y la duraci\u00f3n del tratamiento. Por el contrario, en el c\u00e1ncer metast\u00e1sico, el tratamiento tiene como objetivo prolongar la vida del paciente, ya que es imposible curarlo por completo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-asymptomatic-period-of-cancer\">Periodo asintom\u00e1tico del c\u00e1ncer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lo insidioso de cualquier c\u00e1ncer es que no se manifiesta en el per\u00edodo comprendido entre la aparici\u00f3n de la primera c\u00e9lula maligna y el primer s\u00edntoma. El bienestar de una mujer y los indicadores de laboratorio de sangre no indican la aparici\u00f3n de la enfermedad ni su desarrollo durante este per\u00edodo. El c\u00e1ncer de mama no es una excepci\u00f3n y tambi\u00e9n tiene su periodo asintom\u00e1tico. Este periodo dura de 1 a 5 a\u00f1os, dependiendo del tipo y agresividad del tumor, pero detectar el c\u00e1ncer en este periodo es importante para el m\u00e9dico y especialmente para el paciente. Hoy en d\u00eda, la \u00fanica forma fiable de luchar contra el c\u00e1ncer de mama es la detecci\u00f3n temprana: \"Empieza la lucha contra el c\u00e1ncer de mama cuando tu enemigo a\u00fan est\u00e9 d\u00e9bil\". \u00bfC\u00f3mo hacerlo si no hay s\u00edntomas? Solo la detecci\u00f3n: el examen regular de las gl\u00e1ndulas mamarias le ayudar\u00e1 a detectar el c\u00e1ncer en sus primeras etapas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-breast-cancer-screening\">Detecci\u00f3n de c\u00e1ncer de mama<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El cribado del c\u00e1ncer de mama es la selecci\u00f3n de pacientes entre un gran n\u00famero de mujeres que no presentan s\u00edntomas. De hecho, estas son las reglas inventadas por los m\u00e9dicos para detectar el c\u00e1ncer en sus primeras etapas, las reglas que se aplican en el per\u00edodo libre de s\u00edntomas. La mayor\u00eda de ustedes posee un autom\u00f3vil, la revisi\u00f3n se puede comparar con el mantenimiento del autom\u00f3vil. Una inspecci\u00f3n programada del coche le permitir\u00e1 evitar da\u00f1os irreversibles y seguir utiliz\u00e1ndolo durante mucho tiempo. Al igual que con la salud, es necesario diagnosticar sistem\u00e1ticamente las gl\u00e1ndulas mamarias incluso cuando no hay s\u00edntomas y esto asegurar\u00e1 la detecci\u00f3n temprana del c\u00e1ncer de mama. Los resultados de numerosos estudios m\u00e9dicos demuestran la importancia de este enfoque sist\u00e9mico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Por ejemplo, en Suecia, entre las mujeres de 40 a 69 a\u00f1os que se sometieron a mamograf\u00edas de detecci\u00f3n, la mortalidad por c\u00e1ncer de mama disminuy\u00f3 en un 44%. Este es un resultado excelente que demuestra la importancia de este enfoque para el diagn\u00f3stico temprano del c\u00e1ncer de mama. RecuerdA una regla simple: debeS realizarTE una mamograf\u00eda todos los a\u00f1os entre los 40 y los 84 a\u00f1os, esto Te salvar\u00e1 la salud y la vida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-myths-and-truths\"><strong>Mitos y verdades<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-myth-1-stress-causes-breast-cancer\">Mito #1. El estr\u00e9s causa c\u00e1ncer de mama<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Efectivamente no hay evidencia cient\u00edfica de que el estr\u00e9s en s\u00ed sea la causa de la primera c\u00e9lula maligna del cuerpo, pero... El estr\u00e9s puede llevar a una persona a adoptar malos h\u00e1bitos, como fumar, beber alcohol, etc., y sabemos que las mujeres con malos h\u00e1bitos tienen m\u00e1s probabilidades de padecer c\u00e1ncer de mama que las mujeres que llevan un estilo de vida saludable. El estr\u00e9s cr\u00f3nico (a largo plazo) suprime la inmunidad de una persona, lo que debilita los mecanismos inmunol\u00f3gicos para detectar y destruir c\u00e9lulas que tienden a convertirse en c\u00e1ncer. Por ejemplo, seg\u00fan mi experiencia ucraniana, not\u00e9 un notable rejuvenecimiento del c\u00e1ncer de mama y la aparici\u00f3n de formas m\u00e1s agresivas de esta enfermedad en mujeres que estuvieron en los territorios donde se llevaron a cabo operaciones militares en Ucrania durante mucho tiempo (m\u00e1s de 1 a\u00f1o).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-myth-2-surgery-to-remove-breast-cancer-leads-to-significant-aesthetic-disturbances\">Mito #2. La cirug\u00eda para extirpar el c\u00e1ncer de mama provoca importantes alteraciones est\u00e9ticas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De hecho, el tratamiento radical del c\u00e1ncer de mama se basa en la extirpaci\u00f3n quir\u00fargica del \u00f3rgano. Estas operaciones se desarrollaron en el periodo 1889-1973 y el resultado estaba encaminado al tratamiento de la enfermedad, no se ten\u00eda en cuenta el factor est\u00e9tico. Hoy en d\u00eda, los desarrollos quir\u00fargicos en combinaci\u00f3n con las tecnolog\u00edas modernas permiten lograr resultados terap\u00e9uticos y est\u00e9ticos al mismo tiempo. Las t\u00e9cnicas reconstructivas que utilizan tejidos propios e implantes de silicona son capaces de aportar a la mujer la radicalidad de la operaci\u00f3n y preservar el aspecto est\u00e9tico de la gl\u00e1ndula mamaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-myth-3-breast-cancer-does-not-occur-in-men\">Mito #3. El c\u00e1ncer de mama no ocurre en los hombres<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Espero que este art\u00edculo sea le\u00eddo por mujeres porque no quiero molestar a las personas de mi g\u00e9nero. En realidad, el c\u00e1ncer de mama tambi\u00e9n ocurre en hombres, pero con mucha menos frecuencia que en mujeres. De los 2.261.419 casos de c\u00e1ncer de mama detectados en el mundo en 2020, 22.615 casos son hombres (1%). Para los hombres, no existen programas de detecci\u00f3n precoz del c\u00e1ncer de mama y, en la mayor\u00eda de los casos, acuden al m\u00e9dico quej\u00e1ndose de bultos. En mi pr\u00e1ctica, hubo 3 casos de c\u00e1ncer de mama en un hombre. Uno de ellos ten\u00eda una secreci\u00f3n sanguinolenta del pez\u00f3n y dos hombres se encontraron con un bulto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-myth-4-there-is-no-such-diagnostic-method-capable-of-detecting-cancer-whose-size-does-not-exceed-1-mm\">Mito #4. No existe ning\u00fan m\u00e9todo de diagn\u00f3stico capaz de detectar un c\u00e1ncer cuyo tama\u00f1o no supere 1 mm.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quiero refutar esta opini\u00f3n porque tengo una t\u00e9cnica que puede hacerlo. Esta es una ductoscopia, un examen videoendosc\u00f3pico de los conductos de la gl\u00e1ndula mamaria, que se utiliza en mujeres con secreci\u00f3n del pez\u00f3n. Desde hace m\u00e1s de 10 a\u00f1os hago ductoscopia, esta es una t\u00e9cnica crucial porque el 95% de los tumores de mama se originan en el conducto. La ductoscopia detecta f\u00e1cilmente un tumor de menos de 1 mm en el conducto, que la mamograf\u00eda, la ecograf\u00eda o la resonancia magn\u00e9tica no pueden detectar. Hoy en d\u00eda, durante la ductoscopia, es posible extirpar un tumor en el conducto sin utilizar anestesia ni una incisi\u00f3n quir\u00fargica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-conclusion\">En Conclusi\u00f3n<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El c\u00e1ncer de mama es un desaf\u00edo, pero no una enfermedad sin esperanza. La medicina moderna nos proporciona muchos m\u00e9todos innovadores de diagn\u00f3stico y tratamiento, y la investigaci\u00f3n contin\u00faa ampliando nuestro conocimiento sobre el c\u00e1ncer de mama. Estamos trabajando duro y despu\u00e9s de un tiempo encontraremos una manera de vencer esta enfermedad. S\u00f3lo est\u00e1s obligada a cuidarte porque la mamograf\u00eda de detecci\u00f3n cada a\u00f1o a partir de los 40 a\u00f1os es autocuidado.
