This is the 21st day of the blogging challenge – Bloganuary from WordPress. It will end in 10 days, so in 10 days I’ll stop writing and silly topics every day 😁 Today’s topic is “Who is your favorite author and why?”
Wow! It turns out that I haven’t thought about it for the last 10 years. I have favorite books. But I am not sure if I have a favorite writer.
The Bloganuary challenge teaches me not to overthink when it comes to writing. That’s why I will go with Susan Weinschenk.
Susan Weinschenk has been working as a behavioral scientist for more than 30 years. She has got a Ph.D. in Psychology.
Susan is the CEO and Chief Behavioral Scientist at The Team W, Inc., and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Wisconsin.
I highly recommend her two books: “100 Things Every Designer Needs to Know About People”, “100 Things Every Presenter Needs To Know About People,” and “Neuro Web Design: What makes them click?”.
I read Susan’s books before doing my MA. Her books helped me to understand how people see, read, think, remember, feel, decide, focus their attention, what motivates people, etc.
All her information is based on research studies. She includes a list of them in all her books. So, you can read full research studies (I looked them up on google Scholar).
I am going to re-read some of her books again. Sometimes I re-read books, find new information, and even get new ideas.
I think her books are useful no matter what you do (I mean professionally).
I used lots of knowledge from her books when creating this website teachingisfun.net. By the way, I have a blog post, “7 Things to Do Before Launching Your Website or Blog,” inspired by her books.
