Although it’s March but still I’d like to share my business goals for 2023. I probably should have done it earlier, but in my opinion, it doesn’t matter when you share or set your goal. 

I am based in Kyiv, Ukraine, and because of constant bombings, non-stop hiding from russian rockets, my plans and goals turned into wish lists. Therefore, it is impossible to plan anything for obvious reasons.

Testimonials

Firstly, I am going to work on gathering testimonials. Oddly enough, I almost never asked for testimonials. 

My dilemma was where to publish those testimonials. No doubt, on social media. Still, my social media accounts do not belong to me; they belong to Meta. If my account is blocked, I lose everything I have there. That’s why it is a brilliant idea to have my testimonials on my website. 

The next question is on which page I should publish them. Just thinking out loud. If I post them on my Home or Services page, then I will have a long list of testimonials. 

Hence, I found a solution! I enabled the comment section on my Services page, and people will leave their comments. What do you think about it? 

My next goal is 

Transition words

Secondly, I’d like to use transition words naturally and effortlessly.

Transition words are words that make reading easier. They help the coherence and continuity of a text. We use them to add or link ideas (e.g., and, in addition), show causes (e.g., because, that’s why), show order (e.g., first, second), etc. 

The perfect percentage of transition words in your text is 30%. In fact, I use only about 12%. 

Honestly, I struggle to have 30%. In my active vocabulary, there are about 15 transition words. 

So far, I have printed a list of transition words. Once my text is ready, I calculate how many I have and then add transition words from the list. As I write in English, Spanish, and German, I have lists of transition words in English, Spanish, and German.

Keyword distribution

Thirdly, I’d like to work on my keyword distribution. 

Keyword distribution is the process of allocating keywords to texts and pages on a website. It is recommended to have 1-2% keyword density in your text. 

I would like to write texts with excellent keyword distribution without any effort and not spend lots of time on it. 

Editing courses

Fourthly, I mapped out 5 editing courses for this spring. The 1st one is the German editing course, in German. The next 4 are

Writing and Editing: Word Choice and Word Order, Writing and Editing: Structure and Organization, Writing and Editing: Drafting, Writing, and Editing: Revising.

However, I can sense that I’ve got a lot on my plate. On the one hand, it seems manageable. On the other hand, hiding in my corridor during air raid alerts takes a lot of time and energy.

I am optimistic about my goals!
