There are SO many benefits of having a YouTube channel for small businesses! It is totally worth having a YouTube channel, even if you own a small business. I’d even say that small businesses must have a YouTube channel. And here is why. I have outlined 8 main benefits.
1. Most visited website
Did you know that YouTube is one of the world’s most visited websites? According to Visual Capitalist, YouTube gets 34.6 billion visits every month. They compare 3 most visited websites:
- Google — 92.5 billion
- YouTube — 34.6 billion
- Facebook — 25.5 billion
I think it goes without saying that YouTube is extremely popular.
In addition, creating a YouTube channel will not cost you anything.
2. Increase your sales
Another benefit of having a YouTube channel for small businesses is to increase your sales. As I have said earlier, YouTube — 34.6 billion — plenty of people to see your videos. People watch YouTube videos all over the world. Many of them would watch videos in languages they don’t know because there is an option to turn on subtitles in the language they know.
3. Learn about your viewers
Knowing your audience is important because you will get a better understanding of your videos and the channel’s performance. Once you have all the necessary info, you can adjust, for example, the time and days when you upload your videos.
Besides demographics, YouTube analytics has wonderful features:
- views;
- watch time;
- how viewers find your videos;
- YouTube search terms;
- subscribers;
- impressions;
- impressions click-through rate;
- average view duration;
- top videos;
- external sites or apps;
- content suggesting you, etc.

4. Reach even more people
by including the text in the description of the video to reach even more people. Some people may not have an opportunity to watch a video turning on the sound, e.g., a baby is sleeping nearby, and there are no headphones nearby. However, if you have a good description of your videos, your viewers will be able to read the info.
5. Video testimonials
Adding video testimonials is an excellent idea! They are more memorable and build stronger connections.
According to Wyzowl,
- 77% of people who have watched a brands testimonial video say it has played a part in convincing them to buy their product or service.
- 79 percent of people prefer video testimonials to learn more about a company or product.
- 42% of people say testimonial videos are effective because they showcase an actual person and help the viewer understand their story.
- 2 out of 3 people say they’d be more likely to make a purchase after watching a testimonial video demonstrating how a business, product or service had helped another person like them.
6. Your content will never die
Unlike social media, where your content dies within a few hours, your content will never die because people will keep finding it via Google or other search engines.
There are many videos on my YouTube channel filmed 5-6 years ago that are still extremely popular nowadays. This increases my traffic and boosts conversions. This works successfully not only for me but also for everyone.
7. Communication skills
Recording videos is a fantastic way to improve your communication and speaking skills. It doesn’t matter in which language you create videos. Even if it’s in your native language, shooting a video is a wonderful opportunity to develop your communication and language skills. If you don’t like the first version of the recording, you always have the opportunity to re-record this video, while in real-time, you have no opportunity to re-record your talk with a potential client, for example.
8. Filming is fun
Having fun is important as it
- reduces stress,
- increases creativity,
- improves social skills,
- improves memory.
- In addition, having fun
- decreases negative emotions,
- helps heal emotional wounds,
- improves the quality of sleep, etc.

P.S. Remember to include your contact details in the description of your videos so that your potential clients contact you.
